Professional Series PS77401 Stainless-Steel 2-Slice Toaster Review

Not a bad toaster, just not a particularly good one either.Bought it to replace a vintage toaster from the 50s and that toaster could toast perfectly.This one toasts more on the outside sides of the bread than the sides facing the center.Also, there is little leeway in settings between toasted nicely and burnt.Looks good though.

Hamilton Beach 2-Slice Toaster Review

This toaster does everything we want and looks very nice.The toast comes out evenly on both sides.After the cycle is done, the bread is a little recessed in the slots keeping it nice and warm until you use the lever to raise it up.The crumb tray pulls all the way out for easy cleaning. Bagel and frozen settings work great, too. Toaster is used every day by 3 heavy bread consumers and everyone likes it.Brushed stainless looks great and doesn't show fingerprints. Note: the outside surface does get warm.

Well, It works (most of the time). But the quality is so so. Sometimes the latch cannot lock into the place. I have to "shake" it a couple of times to make it work. I also notice the possible overcooking problem mentioned in another review when you toast multiple bagels in a short duration. So I turn down the temperature gradually.

KitchenAid KMTT200 Toaster, 2 Slice Review

I have the all steel version.
Pros: Very solid construction. Although is quite large, it is good looking and gives you the feeling of something that will last a long time. Very even toasting, works great, and the outside stays totally cool. After several cycles it does eventually get warm, but not hot.
I like it a lot, except for one thing:
Negative: The slots are just a little too short. It fits only the regular Mrs Baird's type of bread loaf.
If you try to toast any other type of shorterand wider bread, it will not fit in the slots as they are about 1/2 inch shorter than the slice of bread. If you look at it, it is obvious that there was enough room to extend the slots at least another inch in front. The design team at KitchenAid must be eating one type of bread only, otherwise they would have run into this problem (or perhaps they don't use this toaster).
I wanted to return it because of this, but I already threw away the box (I guess this proves I am a moron), so I am stuck with it.

Oster Retractable Cord Toaster Review

Ugg...this toaster replaced my awesome, expensive chrome toaster, which randomly stopped holding down the toast.After some quick scanning of the aisle at Target, I bought this mainly on the basis of low price ($17), and the retractable cord.Now I just can't wait to replace this janky thing.

Pros: Retractable cord is well-placed, and seems to have a nicely built mechanism.Bagel setting actually allows some toasting of the outside of the bagel, which is good.Price is reasonable and fair (if the cons weren't there).

Cons: Toast comes out blackened and burned on the bottom, but warm and barely toasted at the top.No amount of playing with the settings will alleviate this, even on the lowest setting.Mini bagels are especially ruined in this toaster.I have worked around this problem by hovering over the toaster waiting, but that's not exactly an awesome activity.The reason I bought a new one was to stop having to do this, so it kind of wastes my $$ and defeats the purpose of the new toaster.Lowering lever is kind of weak and doesn't always hold the toast down on the first, second, or third try.

In all, I'd skip this one and pick out a better toaster.I'd be returning it this week if I hadn't thrown the box away...

Proctor Silex 22605 2-Slice Toaster Review

IN A NUTSHELL: WE HAVE USED THE MODEL #22205 DAILY SINCE 1997

The model 22205 is almost an exact twin of the model offered here, except it was offered for sale to us in 1997. We have 5 children and this brave little toaster has seen alot of service since 1997 without a single problem.

WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT: 900 WATTS - WHITE ENAMEL FINISH - CRUMB TRAY

We have used and overused this little appliance and while 5 coffee makers and 3 'Foreman Grills' have worn out this toaster keeps toasting just like it always has.

CAUTION: HOT TO THE TOUCH

Like toasters of old, this one is hot to the touch with only thin metal and white baked enamel between your fingers and the red hot nichrome filaments that are powered by 900 watts of electricity. Actually, it was the 900 watts versus 7-800 watts of other toasters that got me to buy this in the first place. It even has a crumb bin! Well, 9.5 years and counting, but soon we may want to replace it for a 'cool-touch', though I think we will always keep this brave little toaster around for sentimental reasons.
