Hamilton Beach 31160 6-Slice Toaster Oven/Broiler, White Review

Apparently because this is a large, 6-slice toaster oven, the top heating elements in conjunction with the bottom elements would generate too much heat, and are therefore designed to stay off when toasting bread.Apparently the idea is that the bottom elements can generate enough radiant heat to bounce off the top inside of the unit to toast the top side of the bread.Thus it takes around five minutes for reasonably toasted toast -- far too long.Additionally, if you want to melt the cheese on top of your bread, you'll have to switch to broiler mode for about three minutes -- again, this takes far too much time when compared with my little old 2-slice toaster oven.
