We got this as a wedding gift and absolutely adore it!I missed having a toaster oven... he wanted a traditional toaster...this way we both win!An excellent conversation piece for our kitchen, and unlike our previous toaster, this one gets used a lot!We've made toast for breakfast, hors d'oeuvres for company, and french bread pizza for lazy dinner nights.The only reason I wouldn't rate this a five star is that I am not certain that the toaster oven gets up to the temperature I set it at, and things take a bit longer than expected to cook.Other than that, we love it!

Cuisinart TOB-50BC Classic 6-Slice Toaster Oven Broiler, Brushed Stainless Steel Review

Great looking stainless steel finish on top that does get hot to the touch (more so than then other materials).This unit replaced the 3rd B&D that I've owned over the past 25 years.Having only Black & Decker toaster ovens in the past, I got used to the oven shutting off when the door is opened.This one stays on; you must turn it off manually.I'm not saying that's good or bad, just something you might have to get used to.This toaster does a great job of baking, broiling and toasting.No problems there.I do find that "6 slices" is really pushing it... I'd call it a 4 slice toaster with some room to spare.My only complaint is the way they configured the crumb tray.When you pull it out to clean, there's so little clearance that quite lot of crumbs end up on the counter.They should have made the crumb tray a little deeper so that the debris wouldn't be scraped off when you pull the tray out.

Elite Professional Toaster Oven Broiler - ERO-2006S Review

I thought this toaster-oven was too good to be true. Look at all the features! Well you can't use the top for steaming or cooking without the interior oven being on, which seems very counter-productive. Wanted a rotisserie, but this took forever to cook. The timer shuts off the oven with 10 minutes left to go!
Tried Ellios pizza slices... came out not crisp, not even hot after twice the time listed for baking in toaster-oven. You have to turn one dial to do this... Another dial to enable the first dial.
Perhaps someone else can find this a miracle toaster-oven but that won't be me. I am sorely disappointed. If it sounds too good to be true, it most probably is.

Convection 6 Slice/Broiler Toaster Oven Review

For some reason, the nameplate HAMILTON BEACH never clicked with me as an appliance super star, or even star. I stand corrected. I took a flier and bought this thinking it would probably go back. I'd done the same with other more expensive and disappointing toaster ovens so hope was not high.
This oven has been a happy surprise. My acid test is this; one toasted piece of bread. How even is the brown. If it goes well here, all else will follow. I'm very happily surprised by the result and hope for a long life from this little box. The overall build quality is good. My only reservation would be - how long will the twisting timer last. It could become an issue, but I think that would happen far down the road. A toast to H.B.

Toastmaster 6-Slice Convection Toaster Oven - COV760B Review

I purchased this toaster oven in April, 2007.There are only two adults in this household and we use the toaster oven in the mornings only.Within three months, the timer knob broke off and for the past two months I have been trying to obtain a new knob form the company: Salton.The responses I have received are: (1) The knob is out of stock and we do not know when it will come in since it is coming from China; (2) The knob has already been requested from the overseas manufacturer and we hope to have the shipment in soon; and (3) Unfortunately, this part is still on back order status.We apologize for the delay.The company states that one of the reasons for their "strong market position" is their "outsourcing strategy". I do challenge that statement. If you do not mind using pliers to turn on this machine and unplugging it after every use (since you will not know if it is really off), then this is the product for you.

Euro-Pro Convection Toaster Oven - Stainless Steel (TO289) Review

I wanted a small convection toaster oven that does not take up much counter space and so that I would not have to heat up the house with my big oven. I also needed to get foods crisp which a microwave just can not do. I did not buy it for toast. I have a very good toaster for that.

This Euro Pro was my choice because it had the features I wanted such as a fan, variable temperature control, and a timer with auto shutoff. As with my regular big oven I have found that convection baking cooks faster and more evenly. That is why a fan was a must.

This little oven does exactly what I want it to do. I have tried frozen waffles, pizza and various other frozen snack foods. Everything came out golden brown and crisp. I found the fan to be fairly quiet, but the ticking on the timer is a little annoying. However, when I do not need the timer and auto shutoff, then I simply turn it to Stay-On. Except for the handle, the oven does get very hot. But that seems to be the case with most ovens.

I have never owned this brand before, so only time will tell how long it will last. Of course, with such a small price I do not mind replacing it every few years for an updated model.

The bottom line is to buy what meets your need. Do you need a larger toaster oven and have the counter space? Do you want to be able to heat or cook larger amounts of food? If that is what you want it for, then keep in mind that you have your big oven for those things. This little oven will do the job for most things and was a good choice for me.

Black & Decker FC350 InfraWave Speed-Cooking Countertop Oven with Rotisserie Review

This oven only does slightly better than a typical rotisserie or toaster type oven. If you are broiling a steak, unless you like your meat well done, you should start with frozen meat in order to get a browned surface with a pink center. The recipe book that comes with it only has a few examples and the pre-programed selections do not accomplish a proper product without adjustments to the time. It has a setting for rising crust pizza (like DiJourno) which starts with 14 minutes. A regular oven is 22 to 25 minutes. At 14 minutes, the pizza had risen but the crust was still very soft and the cheese was not even browned at all. I added time, and ended up at over 20 minutes with a pizza that was too soft and floppy. The same with frozen french fries. I expected a web site that would give more direction in how to use the oven but all the B & D web site has is the recipe book in pdf form.

As far as the rotisserie, the oven is not really big enough to even accomodate a medium sized chicken. I did do a small pork roast which came out nicely done. But it had to be a small roast to not touch the element guards. For the price, I was rather disappointed.

This toaster does everything we want and looks very nice.The toast comes out evenly on both sides.After the cycle is done, the bread is a little recessed in the slots keeping it nice and warm until you use the lever to raise it up.The crumb tray pulls all the way out for easy cleaning. Bagel and frozen settings work great, too. Toaster is used every day by 3 heavy bread consumers and everyone likes it.Brushed stainless looks great and doesn't show fingerprints. Cuisinart PIZ-100 Stainless-Steel Electric 12-Inch Pizza Oven Review

I wanted to like the oven BUT to be a pizza oven you need good heat and a good stone.

I make my own pizza dough and use my normal oven with a 1/2 inch thick stone. I wanted this oven because I could put it outside and not heat up the house pre heating the oven...

this oven heats to 450 and I was hoping the small size would be sufficient... but the top will be almost burnt before the dough is proper... also it took the pizza about 20 minutes to cook while my normal oven did it in about 10 ... this longer cooking time can yield a harder crust than desired....

Maybe for normal frozen pizza this oven is okay but if you make your own dough and pizza you will not get the heat you need ..... bummer

Dualit 4-Slice Toaster, Canary Yellow Review

After much research and thinking, I finally purchased this toaster, believing it would be the best and last toaster I would ever have to buy.It is truly the best toaster I've ever had, and I've had them all!There are some slight drawbacks that I must mention, however:
The two slots on the left sometimes toast more lightly than the right-hand slots, and the toasting can be uneven from top to bottom in all the slots.This toaster takes longer than other brands to do its job, requiring a little "warm-up" time after it has cooled a bit.Also, the slots are not quite wide enough for some breads, such as half-sliced bagels. I honestly don't see how two slices of bread could fit into the optional sandwich basket that is designed to slide into a slot on this toaster.

There are some great features, too:The crumb tray actually catches all the crumbs and is easy to slide out to empty.The toast does not pop up, as in other brands, thereby staying warm for a few minutes until I can get to it.It has a simple numbered dial--the numbers correspond to minutes--and during the toasting time, the toaster ticks--like an old-fashioned kitchen timer.There is no "ready" sound, such as a ding, but the ticking stops with a loud click when the time is up. Also, there is never a time when this toaster is too hot to toast another batch of bread.In fact, it works better when it is still hot.

The design is attractive and would look nice left out on the counter.I keep mine in a cupboard, however, and it is no trouble to get it out every morning and put it back after breakfast.(This is how I've always stored my toasters.)I purchased the yellow, 4-slice model, and it is very pretty.The yellow looks good with my wood cabinets and goes well with everything in my kitchen.

I believe this toaster will never, ever wear out.It is heavy, well-built, and well-designed, inside and out.And, it does toast better than all the other toasters I have owned in the past.

This 3 in 1 Breakfast Machine contains a toaster oven, hot plate, and coffee maker. All the items are smaller than if you bought them separately, but if you are tight on space this is definitely handy.

The toaster oven was probably the biggest negative. It is only wide enough to fit 1 slice of break. Fortunately there is a top burner and a bottom burner so you can stack 2 pieces of bread on top of each other and flip them in the middle of cooking.

I cooked eggs in a basket on the hotplate and it cooked the egg in about 5 or 6 mins.

Pros:

Waring Pro CO1500B Professional 1.5-Cubic-Foot Convection Oven Review

If you want a real counter top oven do not waste your money on a microwave, for healthy cooking, baking and eating a convection is the best.

This oven is everything I have been looking for; great capacity, convection, stainless steel interior, excellent price and good looks.It bakes, and browns and roasts, and broils. It is easy to use.

I just cannot get a properly made one, the oven seal fell off the first one and one of the racks was broken. So i sent it back for a replacement.Got the replacement and the convection fan is much loader than the first, sounds ready to break, the oven seal falls off again and the door is not flush, you can see the hot air leaks.

Back she goes, again.

....also Amazon informs me that they have heard of problems with this model and will not be replacing it a third time.So there you have it.

If you can get a good one (I still cannot vouch for its longevity); you may luck up.

Emerson Stainless Steel Toaster Oven Review

This appliance reminds me of why it's never a good idea to save $20 and go for the cheaper one.

Let me start by saying that it is very short, leaving no room to reach your hand in to do anything without burning yourself. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, with a removable tray, but this tray will not budge. The entire thing heats up to an untouchable temperature on the OUTSIDE, so don't even think of trying to pull out that tray for at least half an hour. It toasts very unevenly, turns a bright pulsing orange inside which is just weird, and to top it all of the door is now not shutting tightly.

It receives an extra star for working and not bursting into flames... yet.

APPLICA - B&D Toaster Oven (TRO651W) Review

I got this toaster oven in black (not white) & have had a *few* problems with it...

Problem #1: after cleaning the toaster oven the first time, almost all of the numbers and markings rubbed off

Problem # 2: the door handle detached from the glass door within 2 weeks

Problem #3: the toaster oven and the sides of the handle get quite hot (which, aside from posing a fire hazard, is a big deal when the handle falls off when you are checking on food--you have to put it back on...)

Problem #4: there have been at least 2 fires inside the toaster

Problem #5: the baking mechanism broke so I can only toast (the blue indicator light does not light up when the oven is on bake & the toaster does not bake)

Problem #6: the toaster alternates between taking forever to toast a piece of toast and quickly burning it

Problem #7: the toaster toasts unevenly (I flipped my bread over half way through the cycle to make sure the sides got toasted more evenly)

Problem #8: the baking mechanism did not work if the timer was not off (the blue light will not even go on)

Problem #9 (more of an annoyance): if your toaster is unplugged & you turn the toaster knob on, the toaster will make the toasting sound (so you come back thinking you will have toast but in fact, the oven was never on)

Well, I just ordered a new toaster because it is *difficult* (to say the least) to use this toaster, seeing as it has no numbers, markings, baking mechanism, and has a hot handle that falls off... not to mention the little fires it starts and the fire hazard it obviously poses.

I figure Black & Decker knows about the fire hazard because the door has instructions of what to do if there is a fire inside the toaster (it says to close the toaster door & unplug it... it omits the important step of turn toaster off before unplugging--all consumers need is also the threat of electricution when using this defective product).

After just 3 or 4 months in my possesion, this Black & Decker toaster will be let to rest/thrown away (3-4 months after it should have been). Please do not donate this toaster to Goodwill or to the needy if (I mean, when) you have problems with it--throw it away, it's quite useless & a hazard.

Black & Decker TRO210 Toast-R-Oven, White Review

My wife and I put a white Toast-R-Oven from Black & Decker on our wedding registry, thinking it'd make a solid addition to our kitchen.Within the 1-yr warranty, our toaster oven stopped working.The button for making toast had ceased to depress and hold, requiring us to manually push down the button if we wanted to make toast.B&D had us snip the electrical cord and mail it back to them (I suppose to make sure we weren't just asking for another unit while keeping our current one).

We received the replacement a few weeks later, but this one also broke.Unfortunately for us, the 1-yr warranty had just expired.This time, the problem was the heating element on the roof of the unit.One of the elements (a rod-like tube that goes lengthwise along the toaster) started giving off sparks and then collapsed.Instead of staying pressed against the top of the unit, one of the rods had partially fallen down, bending at an angle.You might think this was a case of user-error, perhaps by the owner accidentally ramming too big a chunk of food into the toaster and cracking the heating element... but I am positive that neither one of us touched the topside heating element.(We typically used it to toast Eggos and bread, and used the pan to warm up leftover pizza, taco shells, cookies.)

The oven no longer works since the topside no longer generates heat.The bottom still gets hot, but a funny smell permeates when the oven is activated, probably because of the broken heating element on top.

Overall, this device is of such poor quality that I would not pay a single cent for another.This is the WORST item on our registry -- a piece of junk that causes headaches and frustration.I will NEVER buy another toaster oven from Black & Decker, and I am afraid to try any of their other kitchenware.I just can't trust their workmanship or design.

West Bend 76026 High Speed Baking QuikServe Oven, Black/Silver Review

This oven is aesthetically pleasing but takes up a lot of counter space. It seems a lot of thought went into the design , for example the nice weight cooking pan has a separate lift bracket with stay cool handles. However, if the top part were just 2 inches talller it would have more functional use. I cooked Ore-Ida oven fries in it on the supplied non-stick pan and they were quickly cooked perfectly with an enhanced potato taste. Then later I cooked manicotti in a small and shallow rectangle glass Pyrex dish. Part of one of the top elements had burned melted cheese on it. Both items cooked much quicker than if I had used my regular sized convection oven or my convection microwave oven since no warm up period was required. However, it seems everything has to be place only on the cooking pan which is about the size of a medium frozen pizza. This greatly limits the everyday use of this oven. I had hoped since my toaster-oven recently died that this item would take it's place, but that is not the case. I will probably still use it for fries and frozen pizza, but if I'm baking cookies, a cake or a pie then I'll use my microwave or full sized oven.

we bought it because we liked the styling (it looks very european) (whatever that truly means) - it looks industrial and not cutesy. we liked this.avanti isn't a big known brand.we knew that.it was on sale for $100 which was a fab deal.works great.but one big problem - it does not heat above 350 degrees.we suspected this and bought a good gauge which says it gets up to 350 but no more.actually i would say not even 350but closer to 340 ... that's it.we're going to keep it though.oh well.i subscribe to the belief that in this world, if i seek perfection, i will be disappointed.

Oster Countertop Toaster Oven Review

Before I bought this oven I was thinking of buying a more expensive toaster oven (Breville Smart Oven, that it's around 250 USD)But after a while I decided not to spend that much. I found the Oster oven and look at the reviews and thought it would be a good buy. When it arrived I was surprised, it looks beautiful and works perfectly.
I was afraid that the oven would be too small however I can now see that it can hold up to 6 toasts, that's great.
There's a glass view on the top which is very useful when checking if your food is done.

Toastess TTO-506 Silhouette Stainless-Steel Convection Toaster Oven Review

I received this oven very quickly from Ritz Camera. I had contacted them to say the dimensions shown must be incorrect since the height is given as 18.6" which from the picture obviously cannot be right - it cannot be taller than it is wide. The company who makes this oven confirmed the real dimensions which are: Width 17" X Depth 13" (to fit a 12"pizza) and height just 9".
Obviously the true dimensions are better than those given. Who wants a toaster oven over 18" tall?
The oven seems well made and after only one use the fan assisted oven seems to work efficiently and quietly. It was however covered in annoying stickers which are difficult, time-consuming and messy to remove. The pinger or bell when the auto-timer shuts off is almost inaudible. Also, there is no interior light as advertised.
I would give the product 5 stars if it had a continuous clean oven coating. I will update this when it has had some use.

Toastmaster TOV320 4-Slice Toaster Oven Broiler Review

This was just about the cheapest toaster oven I came across in my search, but so far it's worked really well. This one, the TOV320, is a replacement for the older TOV200 model. I bought it mainly for cooking frozen pizzas and the like, because my regular kitchen oven isn't working. Of course a toaster oven of this size can only cook half of a 10- or 11-inch frozen pizza, but it does it really well. I've been making mine right on the wire rack, without using a pan or cookie sheet (as is sometimes recommended in the pizza instructions - though the metal broiler pan that comes with the oven can be used if you like softer crust). The pizzas cook up perfectly every time - lightly browned on the top, and a little crispy on the bottom. This oven, despite its price, seems to have a really effective thermostat that cycles the heating elements on and off during cooking, so it heats very evenly. It toasts well too. It's also very compact - even smaller than I guessed when I ordered it, but still roomy enough inside for my purposes. Some people may require a bit more interior space, both vertical and horizontal, but it fits well into my tiny kitchen, so I can't complain. Yes, the metal exterior gets very warm during cooking, but what can one expect with a tiny appliance that heats to 450 degrees? Nonetheless, it seems to operate very simply, straightforwardly, and safely. (Yes, I've heard about the dangers with other cheap toaster ovens, but this doesn't seem to be one of them. Knock on wood!) All in all, a very good buy thusfar.

Two months ago I bought the Hamilton Beach 31507 which I am told by HB is the same as this one, only without the stainless steel front.If you are looking for a toaster oven that does not take up much space yet holds a 9" cake pan, this is the one for you. It bakes, it broils, and voila it toasts evenly.You just have to experiment a little bit as to whether to choose the light toast icon or the dark icon.Just remember to turn the timer dial past 10 and then back to your toast setting.We have baked and broiled chicken breasts and fish, have heated up vegetable filled croissants.Made open faced sandwiches. Everything came out perfectly. There are two slot heights for the rack, and the rack itself is configured to be used high or low. The slide out crumb pan is very convenient.The only negative is that the bake pan while sturdy seems to have a thin coating which I think will break down over time. If that happens I will just get another bake pan.One thing to look out for when searching for a toaster oven is how hot the outside gets.They all get hot, especially on top and the glass door, but someOTHER BRANDS we tried got to the point of SIZZLING.The 31507 one does not get to that point, but I wonder if having a stainless steel front and top or not makes the difference.

I had very high hopes for this oven.It has the Calphalon name on it.Their PR write up sounds so promising.The warranty is good.The oven is handsome.Too bad it fails as an oven though.I tested this oven thoroughly upon receipt.I knew I had to make sure this was a keeper given the price.Save your money and buy a $60 toaster oven.It is important to share that I never use a 'big' oven.Normal ovens pull 3500 watts.They cost a fortune and the overwhelming majority of people don't need such a cavernous appliance.So I bake a lot and everything in countertop ovens.This oven suffers from bad design flaws.You can only use the middle rack position or you will burn the top or bottom of your food.There is almost no internal clearance for anything but the shallowest casserole dish.If you use the rack in the inverted position facing downwards (it has a 'dip' design to - not flat) and pull the rack out to safely remove the dish, the dish slides at a fast clip right out of the oven - almost lost a dish as it rapidly headed for the floor.This is happening because the rack tips down once you pull it forward enough to safely grasp the hot pan.Now I had to flip the rack and use it in that position due to the excessively low clearance - my small casserole dish wouldn't fit and I couldn't move the rack down lest I burn the food - you see where this circle never ends.This occurred regardless of using a casserole dish or a bake sheet.And the back left quadrant cooks much faster than the rest of the oven.I had to watch the food and rotate the pan - talk about aggravating.The back of the oven is actually angled forward presenting a really strange limitation on what it can really hold.I tested many different types of items in the oven to be as thorough and fair as I possibly could especially since it came in such a large packing box.It is going to be a pain to return but return I must unless I feel like cursing everytime I attempt to use it.I am wondering if the people who designed this ever actually used it?A few design changes and this product wouldn't be such a beast.

Clarification:There is an 'edge' to the rack that, when used with the invert facing upwards will stop any dish from sliding out.But the loss of clear space above means only pans or very shallow dishes can be used.Tried using it in this position in the lowest slots but that was still so close to the lower elements that the bottom of the cinnamon rolls burned.Just want to be specific about the issues faced.I am looking for a counter top oven that does more than just pizza, biscuits, etc..I believe the enclosed user guide mentioned you could use this oven to cook a chicken.It had better be either a cut up one or a miniature one.

Maxi-Matic ET-5W Elite Cuisine 2-Slice Toaster with Variable Temperature Control, White Review

Well, It works (most of the time). But the quality is so so. Sometimes the latch cannot lock into the place. I have to "shake" it a couple of times to make it work. I also notice the possible overcooking problem mentioned in another review when you toast multiple bagels in a short duration. So I turn down the temperature gradually.

Pros:large glass door and glass top to view cooking in progress, side handles make transporting easy, preheat takes 9 minutes or less, two inch thick vented sides cool oven quickly after cooking, has three setting knobs: timer, temperature gauge, and broil/toast/warm/bake (a real treat for anyone who has been mistreated by malfunctioning, expensive electronic sensor pads and boards on other appliances).It comes with 2-piece broiler tray, cookie sheet and reversible rack that adds additional rack setting choices.Rounded back fits 12" pizzas.This rescued me on Thanksgiving when my big oven broke. I made a perfect green bean casserole inside while warming rolls in glass cookware I placed on a rack on top.I've owned it less than a month, and, because of Thanksgiving, I can't wait to find out what else it can do well!
Cons:because it's a toaster oven, heating elements are closer to food than in a large conventional oven and you have to monitor carefully to prevent overcooking, (but that's true of all toaster ovens and well-placed glass on this model makes monitoring easy).I love this oven!

Pros: Big interier space, comes with all cooking accessories, easy to assemble, clear instructions. Cools of quickly, has a setting for the door to be open about 1/2 inch.

Cons: Black on silver makes the dials hard to read, The three settings (bake, brown and toast) are not defined in the manual. First time burning off the chemicals on the elements is VERY smokey! Smelled like I was melting a GI Joe in the thing! Set off my smoke detector it did!

Conclusion: An excellent buy for the money! Keep an eye on it (use a seporate timer until you get used to it) I had a potpie that went from perfect to slightly burned in 30 seconds (set off my smoke detector again)

Farberware FAC850SS 6-Slice Stainless-Steel Convection Toaster Oven Review

Very nice. Great design. So far Im happy. I used to have an older Farberware convection oven and it was a bit larger. I liked it better than the new design. Im not all that crazy with the "pizza" design trend with the round exposed "pizza" area in the back of the unit. Its not insulated like the rest of the oven and its hot, and loosing energy thru heat loss. But it seems most ovens now are not concerned with effeciancy.
This company had a great oven about 8 years ago, and now I cant find it.
This is the best for its price though, and it does what its says, but the older unit was better. A bit larger, but much better! I found some used units of the old oven on ebay but they were pretty " used " so I got this one.
My last Faberware lasted 10 years. Im hoping for the same with this one.
Im sure you will be quite happy with this model. I like the crumb tray. and it comes with a broiler pan. Nice touch!

DeLonghi 6-Slice Toaster Oven – Stainless Steel (EO1260) Review

We had a rude awaking today, our Delonghi toaster was on fire. I will never again buy any Delonghi product. The defective design is in the toast switch. It is mechanical. When it finishes toasting, it sometimes continues to the "Always On" position thus leaving the toaster oven on toast: very, very hot. We literally had a house full of smoke & a toaster full of flames. You were warned.

Funny thing is, Delonghi makes an attractive product.
Sad thing is, they can cost you your house or worse.

What a disappointment.I am a huge Kitchenaid fan and I can't believe the poor quality of this toaster oven.As others have said, the finish is poor...the paint is not smooth and is chipping off around the oven door straight out of the box.The stainless steel trim is rough and cheap looking; it seems poorly machined.As for the performance, toasting is totally aggravating since the top element gets MUCH hotter than the bottom.The timer is cheap and the "ticking" is annoying.When the timer ends, the bell is out of synch.There is no on/off switch; just the timer to control the oven.I expected MUCH more from a toaster oven in this price range.I was happier with my old Toastmaster that cost about $40 and lasted for years.You can do much better than this for considerably less money.
