Black & Decker TRO407 Toast-R-Oven 4-Slice Convection Toaster Oven Review

I wanted a basic but reliable toaster oven. An older Black and Decker version we loved finally gave in and I purchased this one after reading one positive review. I absolutely hate this oven. The timer slips and stops clicking but does not turn the over off. It is a fire hazard. A few times the oven kept toasting and I finally noticed the smoke and burning smell. I usually use the "light" or "medium" setting but one of us has to literally stand next to the oven while toasting to manually turn it off. I wish I returned it right away.

Euro-pro To284 1200 Watts Toaster Oven Review

I bought this oven because of the large interior to replace another brand with a smaller inside. We needed one to hold a 1 1/2 qt Corning-ware baking dish with its lid on. It works great for that and baking in general, but it is terrible at toasting bread because the heating elements do not stay on like a regular toaster; they cycle on and off like an annoying electrical stove. Not only that, but they take a long time to heat up to toasting temperature, even after ensuring that the settings are correct [you have to remember to set two knobs]. When the toast is finally ready [?], it is more like baked through than toasted on the surface. Now I'm debating whether or not to buy a regular toaster for when I want toast ... when the whole idea of a toaster oven is to eliminate one appliance.

West Bend 76006 Rotary Snack Oven Review

I'm glad we bought this oven. It makes my kitchen look a lot better than a toaster oven that I used for the same purpose, heating up frozen pizza, snack and such. It also cook faster and more evenly than regular oven. West Bend has another version of this oven for almost double the price. I almost picked the other oven but after some research, I found that this one does the same job as the new version and cost a lot lest. 4 stars because the inside is a bit low, I burned a few snack. Have to get used to it a bit more.

George Foreman GR36BTO6B Jumbo Grill and 6-Slice Toaster Oven/Broiler Review

I purchased this combo set because it was on sale -$40 shipped. I actually thought it might have been a price mistake so I ordered it very quickly without looking at the specs very thoroughly.
It turned out to be exactly the same grill that I already owned. I though it was one of the newer versions with a better lid and a temperature control. It wasn't, but that's fine because an ex-girlfriend was still disputing ownership of the original one so I gave her the new one.

My experience with the grill has been great over the years. I use it for things that I probably shouldn't because it's so easy to make decent food in it. Without an adjustable lid it tends to squeeze foods more than I'd like, but in general everything comes out juicy and flavorful. One needs to be careful with the timing. One minute in the thing, even after you've pulled the cord out, can be the difference between uncooked and overcooked. You just need to develop a sense for it.
I feel like the over-squeezing is somewhat offset by the fact that you don't have to flip, or move food around, as you would on a regular grill.

The toaster oven is fantastic for the price. It is quite large and has 4 heating elements. There is a hemispherical protuberance that bulges out the back which is how one would fit a medium pizza in there as advertised.

Hamilton Beach 31989KO Toaster Oven and Broiler Review

Impressive appliance!Having had the 31989 for three months and used it everyday, I am extremely pleased.I have baked, broiled and toasted and found it does everything extremely well.The most fascinating thing is the self cleaning surface.Nothing sticks to it. Melted cinnamon candy topping from Panera's bagels just wipe off the drip pan with a paper towel with no residue.Likewise cheese from the pizza does the same.No washing required!Build quality was excellent, everything fit perfectly.I use it virtually everyday for some task.I have baked pies, cheese cake, Pizza, potatoes, and everything else.The convection feature of the oven insures everything is evenly browned.One of the best purchases I've made.It would have received five stars if the top had been insulated.Like most, if not all toaster ovens, exterior surfaces get hot.However, the fan runs after shutoff to quickly cool the exterior and prevent accidental burns.
